Do trigo e broa ao centeio, sementes e até inovação, Portugal elegeu o melhor e mais saboroso pão feito por mãos portuguesas – e não ficou só por um.
O Museu do Pão, em Seia, foi o palco da primeira edição do concurso “O Melhor Pão de Portugal”, que decorreu no sábado passado, dia 11 de maio, e distinguiu os melhores exemplares do país em cinco categorias: Trigo, Sementes, Centeio, Broa e Inovação.
O grande destaque vai para a Padaria Dias, da Covilhã. Após ter vencido em 2023 o prémio de melhor Pão Biológico e Nutricional do Mundo, no Campeonato do Mundo de Panificação em Itália, a padaria voltou a fazer história: levou para casa três medalhas de ouro com o melhor pão de sementes, o melhor pão de centeio e o melhor pão inovação.
Já a padaria Rustica Bakery and Brunch, de Viseu, garantiu a vitória com o seu pão de trigo, enquanto a Pastelaria Moinho Novo, de Tentúgal, triunfou na clássica e muito portuguesa categoria de broa.
A competição foi séria — mas deliciosa. Um painel de 27 jurados, todos profissionais da área, fez provas cegas e avaliou cada pão com atenção ao sabor, textura, aroma e apresentação. A presidência do júri coube ao chef Hélio Loureiro e a missão era clara: encontrar o melhor pão de cada tipo que representa o que de melhor se faz em Portugal.
Para Michael Fonseca, padeiro-chef e membro do júri, o evento “é mais do que uma competição — é uma celebração da arte e da paixão pela panificação. No Museu do Pão, sempre acreditámos que cada pão carrega consigo a história, a cultura e o saber de quem o faz. Poder reconhecer e premiar os melhores pães de Portugal é uma forma de honrar essa tradição e, ao mesmo tempo, inspirar novas gerações a continuarem a reinventar esta arte tão essencial”.
