Batizada de ponte “516 Arouca”, a estrutura está elevada a 175 metros de altura acima do rio Paiva, tem um vão de 516 metros e 1,2 metros de largura.
Construída em pleno Arouca Geopark e encrustada nas escarpas graníticas do rio Paiva, a “516 Arouca” apresenta aos seus visitantes “uma paisagem única, de cortar a respiração e com vista para elementos paisagísticos inesquecíveis. Desde logo a beleza natural um dos 41 geossítios do Geoparque Mundial da UNESCO, a da Cascata das Aguieiras, formada pelas águas da ribeira homónima que junto à ponte pedonal suspensa se precipitam para as águas do Paiva. Ou da Garganta do Paiva, outro dos geossítios, e que corresponde a um segmento do Paiva onde o leito se torna mais estreito e se prolonga da ponte de Alvarenga até ao Vau”, informa a nota de imprensa da Câmara Municipal de Arouca.
