O Belcanto de José Avillez ocupa, agora, o 25º lugar na lista dos 50 melhores restaurantes do mundo, sendo o único restaurante português presente na lista @theworlds50best 2023.
A divulgação foi feita na passada quarta-feira, dia 21, em Valência, durante a cerimónia de atribuição dos prémios “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” 2023.
«É um orgulho e uma alegria subir mais de vinte posições na lista dos melhores restaurantes do mundo e ocupar agora o 25º lugar. É um reconhecimento muito importante para nós, equipa do Belcanto, e também para Lisboa e para Portugal: Esta distinção contribui para a promoção da cozinha portuguesa no mundo e reforça o valor do nosso país enquanto destino gastronómico e turístico”, expressou o chef José Avillez.
O Belcanto por José Avillez abriu portas em 2012 e, nesse mesmo ano, foi premiado com uma estrela Michelin. Em 2014, recebeu a segunda estrela.
Com a evolução do restaurante, em 2019, o Belcanto mudou-se para um espaço mais amplo na Rua de Serpa Pinto em Lisboa, mantendo sempre a proximidade com o Largo de São Carlos e a localização privilegiada.
Ainda em 2019, o restaurante entrou, pela primeira vez, para a lista dos 50 melhores restaurantes ao ocupar o 42º lugar, posição que manteve em 2021.
